Franklin County Courthouse

Franklin County Courthouse

Officials in Franklin County, Ohio were seeking a way to replace an aging courthouse to serve as an anchor for the surrounding neighborhood. Pizzuti Solutions recognized an opportunity to use the new courthouse complex as a catalyst to key the redevelopment of the southern edges of Downtown Columbus.

As Owner’s Representative, Pizzuti Solutions led a team of experts from around the country to oversee design and construction of the new 325,000-square-foot courts building and a new pavilion/connector and tunnel.

The Pizzuti Solutions team developed a district master plan and led the effort to develop a “modern expression of a traditional courthouse” that was designed for future expansion. The facility, completed in late 2010, was recognized by National Center for State Courts in the “Retrospective of Courthouse Design, 2001-2010,” and was awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
